Regions & Provisioning
Creating an instance
From app.celersearch.com, create an instance by choosing:
- A name — for your own reference
- An engine version — the Meilisearch version to run; see Engine Upgrades for how versions work
- A region — where your instance and data live
Then it provisions — usually in under a minute. When it's ready you get:
- A connection URL —
https://<host domain> - An instance API key
Paste both into the WordPress plugin as a Service — see Configuration.
Hosting locations
CelerSearch offers nine standard locations:
Europe
- Western Europe — Paris, France
- Central Europe — Nuremberg, Germany
- Eastern Europe — Sofia, Bulgaria
United States
- Chicago, IL
- Buffalo, NY
- Los Angeles, CA
- Dallas, TX
Asia
- Singapore
- Mumbai, India
Data residency
Region choice is honored strictly: your instance runs in the region you pick.
Choosing the right location
Choose the location closest to your WordPress or application server first. The CelerSearch plugin proxies frontend search, autocomplete and filter requests through WordPress REST endpoints, so the application server makes the onward request to your search instance. Indexing and synchronization use the same server-to-search path.
If two locations are similarly close to your server, use your visitors' location as the tie-breaker. Data-residency requirements take priority whenever they require a particular country or region.
Need another region?
These are the standard locations, not a hard limit. Contact us with your application location and requirements, and we can provision in another region for your project.
If your region is at capacity
Provisioning is normally instant. If your chosen region is at capacity, the instance shows:
Preparing your instance — we'll email you as soon as it's live. It's safe to leave this page.
You'll receive an email the moment it's ready — no need to wait around.
Your subscription is never consumed without an instance. You only start using what you paid for once your instance is live.
