Which plan?
Count the documents you'll index (posts, pages, products, orders) and pick the smallest plan that fits.
- Keyword search — choose Starter, Pro, Business or Scale by document count.
- AI semantic or hybrid search — if meaning-based search is a core feature, choose Pro AI, Business AI, Scale AI or Ultra AI. AI plans hold fewer documents than their keyword counterparts because semantic search stores more for every document — an AI representation of its meaning alongside the text.
You can upgrade or downgrade anytime, so starting small is safe.
What counts toward capacity
Document limits are the simplest way to compare plans, but a few choices make each document take up more room. If you're close to a plan's limit, keep these in mind:
- The AI embedding model you choose — the document counts on the AI plans assume a standard embedding model. High-precision models capture more detail per document and use about twice the capacity.
- Extra embedders — each additional embedder on an index stores another AI representation of every document, so every embedder you add uses more capacity.
- Very large documents — long posts, products with lots of attributes or big custom fields take more room than typical documents.
